COBALT BLUE AND WHITE SPONGEWARE

This traditional 19th C decoration
is made by building up the pattern by hand
using natural sea sponges. This decoration was
popular in the late 18th and early
19th C in Quebec (Canada) and has
had a following in America for two
centuries.
